WHAT THE HELL IS ADLs AND HOW CAN WE USE THEM TO KEEP IN SHAPE?

What are ADLs????

Lets break it down
Opt for walking to your destination :)

Activity - anything from walking your dog washing the pots or getting dressed, cleaning, walking, running for the bus, shopping etc

Daily - what you do daily

Living - the way you live

So Activities Daily Living.

Forget the car and walk :)
This is an untapped resource that many people have forgotten and regressed becoming lazy and in-active sitting all day and letting the calories pile up and also their weight.  So if you find yourself becoming tired and have low energy its time to make small changes that will make a start to a fresh and bright new you.  Simply by upping your activities of daily living you will increase your chances of weight loss.  So setting up a schedule for daily activity is a fantastic start to increasing your ADLs and in turn your calorie expenditure.

Changing your routine can become quite distressing to some but can create fantastic benefits for one and all.  So begin by structuring your day and making time to improve anything you can.

Get active it makes you feel great :)
Think of little things you can do like walk to work - stand up on the bus/train - take the stairs instead of the lift - make an effort to be active throughout your day.

As you become more active you can then structure time for some exercise which will help you to improve your health.

Basically becoming more active in your life will help you to improve your mind/body and overall health and well-being as well as keeping you stimulated all the time.
