fruits in the diet have been given a bad and good rap especially in the fitness community with fruit being labeled bad and good which way do you turn?

The reason for the tennis match was that fructose had gym goers turning their heads in disgust.  But more research was done and it is the high fructose corn syrups and sweeteners found in junk foods and sweets that should be avoided and reduced in consumption.

Ahh the pineapple a great addition to the diet heres why:

It is really great especially when taken post-workout as it aids the body in healing injuries faster.  With a rich vit C content & antioxidants which play a vital role in tissue growth and healing.

Per 100g serving:

Calories - 50
Fat - 0g
Protein - 0.5g
Carbs - 13g

So add some to your post workout shake or meal

Going ape for a Banana:

A good choice for a quick snack or in conjunction with your workouts.  The banana is a great quick snack and can be transported anywhere.  Have a ripe banana before or after training as a carb loaded fuel and an under ripe banana between meals as this will have a slower release of blood glucose.

So we have berries such as strawberries/blueberries/blackberries - contain a high number of antioxidants & vitamines such as vit C and E also fiber.  An added extra is they have polyphenols which have been shown to reduce cancer cells and improve cardiovascular health.
